Scottish Cyclops: Albert Watson in Düsseldorf

By Alexander, 24/11/2008 23:10

Come November and Alex got a cold. Got a cold and Alex is not posting much. Hope I will be more proficient in December then.

Anyway, there is a Albert Watson retrospective in Düsseldorf. Albert Who? Jupp, Scottish Photographer, born 1942 in Edinburgh, a production company called cYclops (guess why) and of course famous for some decent pictures: Dozens of covers for Vogue, film posters (Kill Bill for one), moroccan landscapes, hookers in Vegas, Hitchcock with a goose, Mike Tyson’s monstrous neck – whatever your eye might desire, that Scot might have taken a picture of it.

Anyway, the retrospective is at the NRW forum until the 19th of January 2009. Might be a reason to travel to NRW then.  Here’s the link: http://www.nrw-forum.de/

Better even: Visit Albert’s official website! Brilliant slideshows with hundreds of pictures, plus some decent music to go with. I can only recommend it: http://www.albertwatson.com/

Not up for traveling to Düsseldorf? Try Berlin instead! There should be a smaller exhibition at CameraWork  until the 17th of January 2009. Try this link and you’ll also find another slideshow (without any nice music though): http://www.camerawork.de/

Oh, and in case that you might have missed it. Here’s Mike Tyson’s neck.

Now go and check out albertwatson.com
